After my London bessie, Ranveig, moved to Sweden in Jan we literally booked a flight over to visit as soon as we could. Since she lives in Malmö it was quicker to fly into Copenhagen and get the train over the bridge to her pad. Two cities for the price of one.
As soon as we arrived she had the prosecco ready – that’s ma girl. (FYI they have a crazy rule you cant buy alcohol from the shops after 5pm- weird.) We dropped our bags, freshened up and headed out.
First stop Lilla Torg, a cute square full of bars and restaurants. We had a few wines in Mello Yello and decided on the sushi place over the road for dins- it was freeeezing so the less walking the better.
Super cute place with a relaxed vibe. No frills tables with open kitchen and friendly staff, always a winner.
They didn’t have a huge menu but as sushi pros they had all our faves. We started with some gorge chicken dumplings in a silky soft case and some vegetable tempura. Both lovely.
Then came this plate of sexyness. A sushi feast perfect for us gals who had been travelling for the last 5 hours.
Fresh slices of salmon and tuna sashimi. Salmon and prawn nigiri. Avocado and prawn tempura maki rolls with cream cheese. Seared salmon and spicy mayo maki rolls.
Ohh my gawwwdddd it was all so tasty and fresh. Absolute heaven. Rivals Sticks n sushi back home.
We needed more. Another round of the seared salmon with a fruity topping and some salmon nigiri to seal the deal. So pretty.
Happy full tums all round. Stomach lining done, we hit the town to drink all the alcohol.
Izakaya Koi was gorgeous, I would defo recommend if you are in the area. I think it turns into a club later on too- music n maki whoop.
