So the big 3-0 is quickly approaching. Yep I’m getting old and joining the dirty thirties. Pass me the vodka! Since it’s frowned upon to drink Voddy at midday I thought a bottomless brunch deemed more appropriate. Birthday week woooo.
Y’all know I love a boozy brunch, the eggs, the laughs, the never ending stream of bubbly prosecco goodness. Ah tis great. After a recommendation from my pal Chiz, I simply had to try Jones & Sons, for their ‘Off the wagon‘ bottomless food AND drink.
As per, I was first to arrive so quickly took a few snaps and settled down to this sexy number, a Jones Collins– Gin, elderflower and fizz, delightful.
Super cool vibe inside. It’s a converted warehouse with long tables and hanging lights- stereotypical East Landan gav’nah. Group meets are the obvious choice here, any less than a table of 4 you’d be competing with roars of chat from every angle.
So finally my gang all arrived, since you only get the table (and unlimited) for two hours we got off to a slow start. But I quickly forgave them when they showered me with gifts and cards- whoop. Love birthdays.
Once the bubbles started flowing the rest is history. The staff were on a mission to never leave you dry. The menu has all the best brunch faves, a selection of savoury and a few sweet options.
Lou and I started with eggs royale. The muffins were huge (although slightly tough to cut) with huge soft poachies and the creamiest hollandaise. It was gorgeous and there was no skimping on the smoked salmon either. Great portion.
Yep, don’t forget the yolk perving folks.
Kiran and Rose went for smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on sour dough. Thumbs up.
We then shared mushrooms, fried egg and truffle on toast. I expected more of a truffle taste in the mushrooms, they were a little plain, maybe the prosecco had frazzled my tastebuds *facepalm*. Still a good dish.
Lot’s of chat about my party next week and Louise handed out her save the date cards- all very exciting.
Round two. We decided on a selection of the sweet things to share. We were already pretty full but ploughed on.
Blueberry pancakes, bacon and maple syrup. The bacon could of been a little crispier, I like the American style crunchy kind. But the pancakes were fluffy and delish.
Next, Granola with yoghurt, honey and berries. This pic makes me sad as underneath was the creamies yog and fruity layer- grrr I should of mixed it before snapping. Sorry.
Then the best French toast with more maple syrup. The doorstep, dense bread was gorge. We dunked away as we guzzled.
We were the last ones standing in the whole place. We didn’t want it to end.
I would totally recommend Jones & Sons, the staff are brill and despite a few niggles with some dishes it’s amazing value and great fun. Hungry tums would def get their monies worth here. One to check out peeps.
Bring on the party weekend. 30 Arghh.
Did you see my boozy brunches at Flesh & Buns, Fish Market & Hush? No, better skip to it!
